Highlights

The view from the houseboat or from the waterfront terrace is breathtaking. Experience an oasis of tranquillity in the middle of the exciting Randstad lake district, located in the midst of the “Green Heart” of Holland on the edge of the beautiful “Kagerplassen”. Imagine yourself taken back centuries with the picturesque old Dutch landscape. Enjoy the silence, the beautiful Dutch skies, the mills and the dikes, the meadows, the church towers, cows, sheep, water birds and the murmur of the rippling water. On a beautiful day it attracts an armada of boats of all sorts. The water terrace is facing west; take in the magnificent sunset on a balmy summer evening.

The large walled garden offers full privacy. The garden is very green, with beautiful flowering shrubs, roses, fruit trees and a lawn. A gardener takes care of its maintenance. The entire garden is drained. Enjoy a good book while you are lying quietly in the sun. Let the children play a game of badminton or jump on the trampoline. Swim in the water, float on the surfboard or take a relaxing (sailing) ride through the beautiful surroundings.

The nearby small lake, called the Koppoel, is ideal for beginning (young) sailors.

On shore is a large terrace, sheltered under a nice big tree and with a beautiful view over the water. Enjoy your evening meal, either BBQed or not. Preheat the evening around the campfire in the outdoor fireplace. In cooler weather you can enjoy your meal at the large table in the glass-enclosed Gazebo.
From the private parking area, which is closed by a barrier (key card), you walk the dike and eventually reach, through the scaffolding of the small cosy inner port, the “WaterNest”. This walk is not suitable for high heels or disabled people and lasts 5 min. Note scaffold wood can be slippery! With the wheelbarrows (3) you can carry your stuff from the car park.

Roelofarendsveen, a small village, is at 7 km away, with a well-stocked supermarket, a lovely butcher, an old farmer’s cheese store and a liquor store. Another alternative would be to take a trip with your own boat to Warmond or Sassenheim for your grocery shopping. 15 minutes by boat, you will reach Kaageiland with a variety of restaurants with waterfront terraces and pubs, up to a Michelin starred restaurant called “Tante Kee”.
